Training; the Story So Far

Its Sunday and just before 6am in France where I am for the weekend after a hectic round of 7 days of usually 14 hours a day in the training room.

We have 25 people working incredible hours along the path to CP. I have people from the west coast of the United States starting their "day" with me at 6.30am London time but its 10.30pm in California. There are guys from Australia who start work in the room at 6.30pm their time and are still there 14 hours later when the dawn is breaking in Sydney and Perth.

All the people in the room have a few things in common, they have a hunger for knowledge, they are determined to succeed as traders, and they realise that the harder they work, the luckier they get. Sadly there is just one lady in the room. Ladies make great electronic traders.

We started off with a couple of days of information overload and each day added another layer to complete the puzzle. By Friday afternoon, while the ES was melting down, I saw a bunch of previously breakeven or less traders, making consistently profitable paper trades of the ES, on a day that sadly must have sent a lot of traders back to their 9 to 5 jobs. During the week, I saw the lights turn on above the heads of some of the people in the room. I am sure all the 25 are not yet in the happy position of "getting it" but there is over 3 months to go and I know if they continue to work the way they are, our 1 to 1 sessions will catapault them to where they want to be.

So to all of you on the training, I`m having a ball, you are a great bunch and I am looking forward to seeing each and everyone of you consistently profitable. I think its a lot closer than you thought.

  2. Anon 22:25, Everyone should be sceptical about success in the traiding business. Although I've been asked to speak at a number of events, I'll never undertake anything like this 4 month training ever again. It's a huge amount of work and frankly, I utilize the time more profitably just trading. I'm just trying to report what I see and feedback, publically, to the people on the training, how well I think they are going. By all meaqns be sceptical about what you are told but 25 independent people from all over the world can't be wrong. As the Great One said: "How sweet it is". I'm sure the trainees will chime in if they don't agree.

  3. Hi Tom,

As usual, I have to start with saying 'thank you' for all you are doing with the blog, it continues to be a great resource for me since day 1.
Just a quick question; you mentioned you are never going to do the teaching again when you're done with this group; does that mean the end of the EL blog as well? I am still in the group of people 'not yet CP' , and was hoping to be able to afford the training some day, and keep learning from the blog.....
    Thanks for your time,

    Jay

  4. Jay, Its this marathon I won't do again. It takes a huge amount of my time and I can't do anything else. I have been asked to do a few 3 day events and I am considering that as I want to help and I have found it helps me too. I will keep the blog as its a place I can document a lot of things. I have also decided I will offer the videos of the training at a price to be determined as I can help my charities more as well as other people when I give them away for free. I'll address these issues in a post later today in response to Friday's question from Alex.

There are a lot of fakes in the financial markets. It is my opinion that El is genuinely a good trader with good intentions. They are very hard to find. You have stumbled upon his blog. Why be such a cynic about it?

Any experienced trader can see that El is the real deal simply by reading the blog. Are there better traders out there? Sure. Are there better bloggers out there? Absolutely. Is there a better blog for those who wish to learn to profit by day trading index futures? There may be, but I haven´t found it.

I have been cp for quite a while and I enjoy reading this blog a lot. It is written in a personal and frank tone from an (obviously) experienced operator. I have included it in the recommended reading list I give from time to time to friends who tell me "I wanna be a trader like you, what do I do?".

I am not part of the training program, and I don´t know El. All I know is that I never miss a post. It´s a relly good blog and I hope it will be around for a long time.

    Keep em comin sailor!
